Dementia Support Line
Trek 2026
Albanian Alps – a stunning Alpine trails, without the crowds!
The Albanian Alps offer an unspoilt wilderness of snow-capped peaks, gorges, lakes and dense forests, dotted with tiny stone-built hamlets that have changed little in years.
Our trek takes us to protected Valbona National Park, home of inspiring scenery and adventurous trekking, where we explore the valleys and high alpine pastures. Our biggest challenge is the classic trail in this region – the high Valbona Pass, used for centuries to connect remote valleys lying among the jagged peaks of the dramatic Accursed Mountains. We round off our week with time in Shkodra and Tirana, adding cultural discovery to a week already packed with highlights. Accommodation type: guesthouses
Dates: 2nd – 10th October 2026
Cost: £300 deposit at time of booking, then £2,099 due 8 weeks before departure
Fundraising: minimum of £1,000 per person
Please note this cost is based on 10 people signing up, the cost will decrease the more sign ups we get. The cost includes return flights from Jersey to Albania, accommodation and meals unless otherwise stated on the itinerary.
Albania is a destination trending in the travel world, yet still hiding vast stretches of untouched wilderness. “The trip to Ecuador was truly unforgettable. It was challenging in all the best ways, pushing me out of my comfort zone while surrounded by the most inspiring group of people. To be part of something so meaningful, raising funds for such an important cause, made the experience even more special. It’s a journey I’ll carry with me forever.”

The trip to Machu Picchu with Dementia Jersey was once in a lifetime. I enjoyed the opportunity to meet and become friends with people from all different walks of life. Together over the course of just a week we joined together and challenged ourselves and overcame many obstacles, leaving the experience with wonderful memories.
The coordination and the support during the whole experience was gold standard. If you’re looking for a chance to see the world, challenge yourself, make new friends, and support a great charity then I see no better place to do so than on the next Dementia Jersey expedition!
