Meeting Place Project Facilitator
About me
Jo joined Dementia Jersey in September 2024, bringing with her 17 years of experience in education. Her background in teaching, gained through working in primary schools around the world, has equipped her with a unique set of skills that she now applies to delivering MPP meetings. Looking for a new direction while still making use of her expertise, Jo found the perfect opportunity at Dementia Jersey.
What I love about my job
I’ve really enjoyed building a rapport with the people in the MPP groups. Every meeting is unique—there’s always laughter, and I always walk away with a smile on my face.
Working for Dementia Jersey is fantastic. It’s a charity that truly supports and improves people’s lives. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting some amazing volunteers who support me in my role and have generously shared their experiences of how living with close relatives who have or had dementia has affected them. Their insights have been incredibly valuable and have helped deepen my understanding and empathy.
Did you know
I’m a proud Jersey bean and mum to a son who now towers over me—which he’s very pleased about! When I’m not working, you’ll often find me outdoors—either in the water or out walking and enjoying the island’s natural beauty.
