Music Teacher for ‘Musical Memories’ Sessions – 1.5hrs per week

Are you a music teacher or community musician who believes in the power of music to connect, heal, and bring joy?

We’re looking to add to our weekly activity sessions and seeking a compassionate and creative music teacher to lead an additional “Musical Memories” session – an uplifting, dementia-friendly musical activity for people living with dementia and their carers.

This is a contract position – the successful candidate would be responsible for:

  • Leading an engaging, weekly therapeutic music session (singing, simple instruments, reminiscence through song – using our existing song book)
  • Creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and joy
  • Working alongside carers and volunteers to support wellbeing through music
  • Sessions to be held on a Saturday, 10.30-12.00 at St Andrew’s Church

We’re looking for someone* who:

  • Has experience in music teaching or community music
  • Is patient, empathetic, and loves working with older adults
  • Can bring a sense of fun, warmth, and connection through music

*our sessions could be led by one or more persons sharing the hourly rate.
