Helen Toole
Activity and Volunteer Assistant
About me
Helen joined Dementia Jersey in October 2022 initially as a group leader for the Meeting Place Project and now is an Activities and Volunteer Assistant too.
A local by default, having grown up in the island Helen followed the “Jersey” career path into the local finance industry, until she re-trained as a Primary school teacher. After spending a number of very happy and busy years teaching in the Midlands, she returned to the island and moved into the 3rd sector working at Communicare in St Brelade running the café and kitchen. A chance conversation led to her involvement with Dementia Jersey.
What I love about my job
The variety of my role(s) means I get to use a wide range of “skills” whilst meeting lots of interesting and fantastic people and doing different things. Every day is different and I feel privileged to be working with such a dedicated and positive team.
Did you know
Helen is a keen hobbyist and has rarely met a craft she doesn’t like! She also has a strange fascination with penguins.
