About me
Peter joined the team in August 2023 as a Dementia Project Manager.
Peter started working with Dementia Jersey in August 2023. Prior to this role he had been a teacher of Psychology and Sociology for 29 years. Previous positions have included lecturing with the Open University, Education Manager at HMP YOI Swinfen Hall, Head of Access to Learning at Highlands College Jersey, along with various teaching positions at schools in England and Jersey.
What I love about my job
Teaching, learning and education come in all shapes and sizes, which is why I love being an educator. Working for Dementia Jersey has given me an opportunity to work alongside a very wide range of islanders who want to learn about dementia and improve the lives of those impacted by dementia.
A key part of this role is the Dementia Friendly Business initiative which has the potential to significantly improve the lives of people with dementia and their carers, whilst also raising awareness of issues around dementia. Being involved in such projects, that operate in many different settings, is both exciting and rewarding.

Peter enjoys bodyboarding, especially during winter and spring when the bigger swells hit Jersey’s shores.
