About me
Wendy joined Dementia Jersey (then Jersey Alzheimer’s Association) in September 2018 as Community Education Co-ordinator but was promoted to the role of Operations Manager in July 2021.
This is a wide and varied role which enables Wendy to use her Chartered Manager skills and her previous experience at senior management level to help Dementia Jersey deliver its aims and objectives.
What I love about my job
Dementia Jersey is such a worthwhile charity and I am proud to be part of the team helping to raise awareness and improve understanding of dementia throughout Jersey, thereby making Jersey a more dementia friendly island.
I find it so rewarding meeting the many people who are interested in finding out more about dementia especially those who are wishing to make their businesses more dementia friendly.
While my new roles is predominately office based, I will still be able to support the team who are in the community meeting members of the public and my previous experience in the Education role has given me vital experience which I can pass on to others within the Dementia Jersey team.
Did you know
Wendy is a Vice President of the Band of the Island of Jersey, where she plays trombone. She also co-runs the Band of the Island of Jersey’s training band for people wanting the learn drums or a brass instrument, whatever their age.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren as well as pursuing craft projects such as embroidery and knitting.
