Dementia Support Line
I was born in Sri Lanka and lived there until moved to Jersey when I was ten years old. I have been here ever since, later raising my son, Ross, and daughter, Hannah, alongside my wife, Ruth. My career included work as a Radio Officer for The Ports of Jersey, based at Corbiere.
I have travelled extensively. Boating was a big part of my life, and owning our boat – ‘Seamixy’ – meant we were able to enjoy sailing as the children grew up.
In 2022, I was diagnosed with dementia. I consider myself an active person. I enjoy several activities with Dementia Jersey. I also take part in indoor bowling with my neighbour, every week, and regularly see my family. I enjoy reading many books – especially biographies – and the topical humour of Private Eye magazine always amuses me.
